Old Photos Traditional Tahitian fishermen

These photos of Tahitian people were taken in the 1930s. I tried to collect various photos from the past about Tahitian society. These photos were taken from a Dutch language document printed in 1931. The title of the book is "Onder de bewoners der betooverende Zuid-Zee eilanden". In the book there are several collections of photos from the past of Tahitian society.

You can see in this photo some Tahitian men catching fish using nets.  They looked engrossed and focused on releasing the fish caught in the net. The men must be happy because they will definitely catch a lot of fish.

Seen in the photo are several Tahitian men sitting on their boats, probably fishing. With stories they chat about their fish catches.

A Tahitian man holds three large fish he caught. Maybe he caught the fish by fishing. It's extraordinary that the fish is very fresh when cooked.
